Our team is always looking to stay connected to our craft by continuing to dream and work with others that inspire. For this holiday shoot, we wanted to inspire couples with a modern and chic way of incorporating the holidays into their winter wedding without making it too “Christmassy” and keeping a sense of timelessness while still feeling fresh and refined. The original inspiration for our “Marriage in a Pear Tree” shoot, was inspired by Pantone’s 2018 Fall/Winter
First impressions are everything and Polka Dot Paper Shop outdid themselves with this modern and stylish invitation that is sure to capture your guests’ attention. The invitation sets the scene, the tone, and the vibe of how your wedding will be like and the details that went into this invitation suite were just flawless; printed on white cotton stock with torn edges, wrapped in floral printed vellum see-thru wrap and tied together with a fold wax seal and string, accented with a deep shimmer red envelope matched perfectly with our red pears.
Upon guests’ arrival, one of the the first pieces they will look at is the seating chart and as mentioned above, first impressions are everything. This seating chart definitely was the star of the show and I’ll let you in on a a little secret – these mirrors were actually from IKEA and then lettered by the amazingly talented Doris Wai of Love Lettering (she even did a little IKEA hack using these mirrors on her YouTube channel). The mirrors are purposely positioned to resemble a Christmas tree while draped in cedar and ruscus for greenery and decorated with red roses, dahlias, carnations, wax flower, and berries for pops of red as ornaments.
For our first scene, the ceremony was set with beautiful crystal clear Tiffany chairs by Detailz Couture and Flower Treasures designed these stunning, but delicate wreaths that hung on the wall, while ScarletsTable offered vintage white lanterns to create warmth and intimacy for this sweet little ceremony. The bride’s stunning dresses are both from Ferre Sposa. For a sophisticated vibe, we wanted our bride in a more conservative, but minimal dress. Here she is wearing the Pronovias Mallorca couture gown with soft and flowing sleeves and accessorized with a dainty vintage diamond ring and studded earrings from Brockton Gems.
For the second scene, the bride wore Charlene by Maggie Sottero. This vintage-inspired A-line wedding gown features a beaded bodice accented in Swarovski crystals and a sheath skirt comprised of tulle with a princess seam slit and a plunging v-neckline. Accessorized with jewelry made by Love at First Blush, the bride wore leather-feathered stud earrings, a set of trio gold wired pearl rings and bracelets for a more casual and fun evening look and a vintage diamond necklace by Brockton Gems to finish the look.
For this scene, the sweetheart table was adorned with a gorgeous cascading floral runner by Flower Treasures, that offered a truly unforgettable accent piece. And how beautiful are these red pear “escort cards” lettered by Doris Wai of Love Lettering? They are truly too pretty to eat! The gold tinted stemware are the essence of class and style and perfectly matched the plates and flatware for this holiday inspired wedding that accented the red pear perfectly. All rented from ScarletsTable, sat nicely on a soft satin linen by Linen Closet.
We can’t forget about the favours! It’s not the holidays without some chocolatey sweets! Succulent Chocolates provided delicious bonbons, each with a different holiday flavour like candy cane, eggnog, vanilla bean, and my personal favourite, gingerbread! These succulent chocolates (pun intended) offered a tasty and beautiful favour item for each guest to take home.
Last but not least, we cannot end a party without having cake and champagne! Paired with a cute ornament filled with cranberry juice and Veuve Clicquot champagne, this stunning cake designed and created by Joni & Cake was filled with delicate handmade sugar flowers and hand-painted art. We hope this styled shoot inspires you for your next holiday party!
